Targeted Velocity Double SCs or Points Offer [July 2024]

I don't have any status with Virgin but was offered double points or a lounge pass. I can't see that anyone else on this thread has been offered a lounge pass as an option so far.
I have to fly to ADL soon so going to book Virgin for the return. I've never been but from what I hear, their lounge will be a bit nicer than whatever is going on with the QC at the moment.
So I selected the pass option, got the confirmation email, booked my flight then today received a follow-up email offering me double points on my next Virgin flight booking anyway.
I don't have any further flights to booked prior to the promo expiry, but I do wonder if I had initially selected double points what the follow-up offer would've been.....?

I used one of the generic links provided up thread (I have half a dozen forward (J) bookings I could make if I wanted to)... and I can confirm it is still targeted, and not at me... anyway, it is unlikely that these forward bookings will end up on Virgin without this promo, as my latest strategy is wait until the last minute and book Rex (J) - as ZL don't put their fares up last minute, where as VA seems to put their fares up almost 2 months out from a flight now.

The perplexing thing about this offer is the travel dates. If you can only book 330 or 331 days in advance, then booking something on 18 July 2024 ( the last day to book) you can only book travel up to 14 June 2025 (if 331 days is used for calculations), but the promo allows travel up to 27 June 2025. So the promotion isn’t really until 27 June 2025. Am I reading this correctly?

I wonder whether the later date in June is if you want to change flights. If you change it beyond Jun 27, then no more double status credits but changes up to Jun 27 will still get them.

Same here.

I found it interesting that within my team at work (7 people), 4 have the offer and 3 don't - yet we're all platinum and travel similar patterns/locations. The only difference between us is that the group who received it were all 55-65yo and those that didn't were around 40yo. I don't it's based on age though, but I do wonder what criteria is, or if it really is just random.

I got the offer after I stopped flying!

I didn't get the offer but was able to sign up via the FB ad. Wife got an email but was ineligible. I couldn't force registration for her or the kids via the FB ad or any other way. It's targetted in some way. My guess is that if you pool to someone, then not eligible?

Interesting! I didn't see the Fb ads and they appear to be gone now.

I just checked and while I am part of a pool and didn't get the offer, each of my colleagues that did are also either pooling to or being pooled from their spouses, so it can't be that. Good suggestion though!

I was planning to let this current offer lapse as I've already maintained Gold thanks to a status run with TSC but then noticed a new flight was added today at a sale price on a day I need to travel for a wedding so I ended up registering for double points before booking... What a waste of the previous status run as the current DSC would have helped me requalify after all!

I got the offer as did my wife, but not our children. Had booked flights to HND only 4 days prior, but not worth cancelling.

Did book flights tonight for October trip to MEL on Choice fares, so that will be a decent little earner (I chose SC’s but my wife points)
