TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Another post on the FT oneworld forum by the stvr quoted above, slightly different info this time.

QF Gold denied access to oneworld business lounge today. I was flying on a domestic itinerary.
They grew petulant. Then they threatened to call security. I walked away. A wholly unpleasant affair.

Given its not mentioned, I wonder what terminal stvr's flight was departing from?

Qantas' offshore social media team is great at taking compliments or dealing with minor individual issues. They go very quiet when there's been a big company stuff up.

I suspect the plan is to officially make the TBIT lounge another exception (that does not allow access before domestic flights), hence nothing from Red Roo.

But they seem to be very quiet!

I think there might have been a subtle change in engagement by QF on AFF.

We can probably expect to see a focus on positive stories... new routes, product innovation, and new code shares, as well as some assistance for individual cases such as the ticketing delay yesterday.

That would be terrible. The lounge is better than the AA T4 lounge in terms of offerings

How is that a change? :)

Wouldn't they be more likely to train the staff to enforce the rules as they're written. Primarily to stop AA elites gaining access when travelling domestically. From what I've read, that's the problem.

But that's always been the modus operandi, hasn't it? Their absence in this thread, where there is criticism of the company, is not unexpected by me.

I'm promised an update from Jeff H-, within the next week - specifically around a clarification of the entry rules to this lounge.

As I said before, I wouldn't be surprised if they simply prevent those travelling on onward domestic legs from entry, though this would be very complex to specify rules for those travelling onwards via, say, JFK - then going international.

There used to be engagement across the range of issues... even those we didn't love so much. The removal of chauffeur drive, mistake fares, simpler and fairer round 1, involuntary downgrades, Qantas Club dress standards.
