If its all on a through PNR, you don't get your bags in SYD, (its automatically moved for you, your bags that is, the ones that go into the plane's hold under the passenger compartment), you don't have to worry about that.
At BNE, you will drop your plane hold baggage off, it will be tagged all the way to SIN.
You will be given boarding passes all the way too, to SIN.
PNR is that 6 alphanumeric code, thats something like XX171G or similar.
If its on a different PNR, it can be a big harder.
Hopefully its linked.
Coming back to Aust, if coming back via SQ into SYD, then you have to collect your bags to have it cleared by ABF in SYD, and then drop it off at the transfer desk (far left at T1), and it will be moved across automatically to T2, while you get the shuttle.
I have not done T1 to T2, so can't say what the new arrangement is, if the bus drops you outside T2, or you are domestically security scanned at T1 like QF.
More info needed.
On this trip to SIN, in BNE, you will be given a Transfer Wallet, with boarding passes enclosed, and it will have a tear off slip for the bus driver to keep in T2, VA Gate 45 downstairs.
No more outgoing green forms, so it saves a lot of time.
Enjoy the trip.
Edit: up above, not big harder, but bit harder.

This is official way.
I did it the unofficial way, ie, mine was unlinked VAd to (Air) NZ.
