I’m at Changi now and I have never seen any lounge in such a mess!
After finally getting in as a business class passenger there was not a seat in sight, toilets had huge lines, people eating while standing and others sitting on the floor!
I lined up to complain with dozens of other pax to be invited to the the mahaba lounge as a business class passenger, got there, still no seats and this was the food choice!
Not good enough! For years as an Elite Gokd I couldn’t use the business lounge now as business class, still can’t use business lounge! Be warned

I concur. I had a very long layover there last Sunday; got there before the morning rush and managed to walk straight in and got a shower. By the time I came out of the shower the place was filling up. By about 7am it was a zoo... Then it relatively quieten down and then filled up again by lunch time. Other lounges in T3 were also filled to the rim.

I ended up going to Marhaba lounge in T1 for a few hours (using Priority Pass). I think there were total of about 2-3 people in the lounge between about 12:00 and 14:30, with reasonable spread of food and snack.

I then cleared immigration and visited the Jewel for a few hours before heading back to the T3 lounge, which was again packed.

I think they have underestimated how many visitors they get BY A HUGE MARGIN!

I was in SKL at Sin T3 yesterday from ~345pm til ~745pm. It wasn't too busy and I got a shower straight away. The food options are lousy cf to prepandemic and Sq are saving money by having only one lounge open. I do note the First and TPR are currently being renovated so I guess the current F area in the J lounge will be additional J space.

The lounge is plenty big enough, the issue is Star Alliance golds are also using the lounge. SQ would be rolling in the $$$$ if everyone in the lounge was a J class passenger.

The current F area of SKL is not much better than the general business class area - depending on your timing. Hardly any free seats, having to order meals in the F lounge using a QR code is a huge step down compared to the old TPR experience.
I am there again in 4 weeks (in F) but suspect the new 1st lounge and TPR will not have been completed- they are already well behind schedule. How long can they use Covid as an excuse for the substantial fall in standard affecting the lounge, their phone service etc. At least on board the flight the standards are good ( although still not what they used to be).

That’s disappointing. On my visits pre-COVID before the shift the lounge was quite busy - people didn’t have to sit on the floor (unlike dom J lounge recently) and it didn’t have the feel of a relaxing, exclusive space. IIRC there was discussion about limitations on that floor on how much SQ could expand the lounges.

Any news on when they’ll reopen the Gold Lounge? It seems odd that they haven’t already. The overcrowding has been reported for a couple months now.

We’re passing back through next week. Fortunately a relatively short transit - at the time of booking the Covid “pig pen” holding area was in play…

I was there on thursday night, it was overflowing with every single seat taken, people standing around and some were actually sitting on the window frames. The F section was also at capacity. Around midnight however, it emptied out significantly. I might be wrong but I suspect premium cabins on most flights are completely full, at least that is what Ive seen on the last 6 flights on SQ past couple of months.

Probably not looking good for our SQ317/SQ211 combo LHR-SYD next week..😳

If there’s a Q for SK Lounge at 7:30am, I might just browse what’s reopened in the DF area…

That's very sad, particularly the food in Mahaba. When we went through there in Jan 2020, one thing that stuck out was the incredible food choice and quality.

Back in the lounge now. Week day morning (arrived before 8am) and a bit of a zoo but there are seats at the bar and about but still “hunger games” trying to get two or more comfy chairs together.

Food selection looks better than when we passed through 6 wks ago but probably no where near where it ought to be during normal ops.

We were there on Friday morning just before 0900 and had no problems getting seats. Even when we left the first 2 after 3 young IT nerds sat down next to us and talked loudly about their problems.

We managed to get some comfy chairs about 08:30. We left just before 09:00 to board SQ221, the lounge was starting thin out after the morning rush.

It’s been announced that the KF Gold Lounge is reopening on 20 May. That ought to help a lot (only F, J PAX and whichever SQ’s status peeps in the SK lounge thereafter). *A and VA Gold shunted back to KF lounge.

Looks like its all about to change ladies and gentlemen.

May 20th the KF gold lounge, with the 1st lounge and TPR to come within the next few weeks

Worked most of Friday there in one of the booths at the Northern end (showered by 6:30am off red-eye from MEL). There's a blocked off area near the Southern end - it looks like a business area being set up with more work booths .

It did get busyish around 9am Friday, but nothing like the crowds about 10pm last night.

It's quite long - over 120 metres from one end to the other.

I'm here today (Wednesday) from 5pm to midnight, SG time. Nowhere near as busy as one might think given all the negative press lately. Tonnes of food, plenty of seats in any part of the lounge, don't have to wait for anything.

There's also a ton of staff on hand to do food prep and cleaning, it's not short handed at all.

They are opening the first class lounge in 2 days from now, so I would imagine the situation will be even better very soon.

Update: After 10pm the lounge for sure has come more busy, though there's still space to sit (maybe say 2 to a table or something). I'm guessing a lot of overnight passengers.
