Terminal 3 Silverkris Business Lounge (not *G lounge)

Quick report on my T3 KrisFlyer Gold Lounge experience linked below in another lounge thread.

With the new gold lounge and now first class lounges open, hopefully the business class lounge is not going to be overcrowded anymore. I will have a report in a couple of weeks.

Also T2 is beginning to reopen which should further reduce load on T3 lounges.

Not quite yet, it is only reopening for limited operations. Checkin will still take place in T3, and only F gates are reopening, no shops or other facilities (including lounges), except for toilets and smoking areas, will re-open as renovations continue. The advice is to remain in T3 until gate opens, or proceeding to boarding.

We were in SIN KrisFlyer lounge a couple of days ago. We were there just before 6:00pm. I do not remember the food ever being that awful.

Some sort of Pork belly dish that did not look like Pork belly. Took 1 spoon full and it was awful. Slop. Totally inedible.

Some sort of seafood chowder that did not taste like seafood in the slightest. It was slop. Very spicy.

I thought the chicken pieces in some sauce would have been nice. Nope. Slop. Awful.

I usually go for the pasta/spaghetti but none to be seen anywhere. I had some
lettuce instead. I only had some water. Not much.

By the time we boarded flight to DPS 4 hours later. I was bloated quite badly. Quite bad indigestion, constant burping of what felt like peanuts and other spices. The meals SQ offered were awful so didn't eat and just had an ice cream. I was still severely bloated when we were at hotel in Bali 8 hours after SIN lounge visit.

Felt sick most of yesterday and still sick today. Had some bland rice porridge in hotel yesterday, Pringle's overnight on VA flight and some bland eggs in VA ADL lounge this morning. Still sick now home in Brisbane and I'll eat some boiled pasta with tuna.

My wife was not happy either. I thought a lounge is supposed to have food for all tastes not just Malaysian/Singaporean cuisine. I know I'm in minority but why would anyone use peanuts and that many spices in cooking? I'm not allergic to peanuts. Not making same mistake again. Egg and mayonnaise sandwiches next time.

The SIN T3 lounge is pathetic since the upgrade, I really really don't like it and spend minimal time in there now

Too loud, too busy, too bright and food has gone downhill. The only good part is the bar for a few quick drinks, then out of the zoo.

I'd rather spend time shopping and walking around (even with kids in tow)

Because we were travelling Y 2 days ago, as a KF EG, only had access to the KF Gold lounge at T3 from 830 till 1130pm...it was quiet and peaceful, got a shower straight away (even though they only have 3 shower cubilces), food choices were almost identical to the Silver Kris J lounge...less alcohol options and no bar...it was a much more pleasant and relaxing environment!

I wonder if I can access the KF Gold lounge instead ?

I have been into the T3 SKL so many times and I just can't like it as much as I like SQ. Mornings, after a long-haul euro flight, can't get a "bed" as they are all taken.

Lights on are full despite being 5am, but essay to get a seat until about 7am when it's full

Evenings, it's OK at around 5pm, but 6pm-Midnight is just people everywhere

Yes the First class sections is great, the private room amazing but for 90% of people the SKL is just bad :(

The crowding should improve somewhat in the SQ T3 lounges this week.

From Wednedsay all Korea and most Japan flights* will switch to T2.
Given most of these operate in the peak times, shifting those flights will likely move a number of people from both the Krisflyer Gold and SilverKris lounges to T2's lounges.

*except the SIN-NRT-LAX flight

Hopefully that works. I'll be back in T2 next week as, in addition to Japan and Korea, almost all SE Asian flights now leave from T2.

I know most on here will not agree but maybe its time for SQ to put a time limit on access to the lounges. Maybe no more than 3 hours before departure. I cannot understand why anyone would want to spend more than a couple of hours in a dark and crowded lounge, especially if the food is as bad as indicated above.

Much more of interest to do in the airport, at Jewel and so easy to get into the city for some of the best Asian food for any budget.

I guess I'm one of those that do not agree.

There are times where it's not possible to have short connections. The CNX-SIN Scoot flight arrives at 4:00pm and may not be able to get a flight to AUS until around midnight. I don't want to do any sightseeing or shopping. I'm not too fussed about the food. I want somewhere to relax before next flight and the lounge is a good place to relax.

There are also times when flights ex-AUS arrive around 10:00pm-midnight and need to wait until first flight out to BKK after 6:00am. I have no interest in going to hotel. Lounge is perfect place to wait.

I would hate if there were time limits on lounge access.

Last time I visited T3 SKL, I thought the food was great. Maybe some people don't like the type of foods provided?

Last time I visited the SKL at T3 I thought it was a zoo at 8 am, a few months ago. Not a very premium experience at all.

T2 was much quieter, and the food was fine.

Indeed a zoo between about 7am and 10am

Always fine during middle of the day

6pm onwards worse than a zoo

Wouldn't be surprised if there's still a few more airline terminal moves to come at Changi which might move more in to T2, freeing up a little bit more terminal/lounge space in T3.

The most obvious one for me would be OZ, both their flights leave between 2300-0300 which is a bit of a peak in T3, where as T2 is quieter then.

OZ use SATS as their ground handlers, the same provider LH/LX and ET, which all operate out of T2 at the same times as OZ operates out of T3.

SQ has just moved flights that depart in the 2300-0300 range in to T2 which means the T2 lounges would be available for OZ to use.

T2 is very underutilised around midnight compared to T3 and T1, so plenty of opportunity for a bit of further "rebalancing"

Just speculation though.

We were there 2 weeks ago for ~4-5 hours before our 9:00pm flight to Bali. Lounge was not that busy. Lots of space everywhere.

To be honest I have only ever seen this lounge busy from around 6:00am-9:00am with what appear to be business travellers. Hardly anyone around late evening and certainly not many around between midnight-6:00am where one can have a quiet snooze.
