Well just to further pad this thread I thought I would reflect that almost 6 years ago I stumbled on this site, refusing to credit to AA, having never flown a premium long haul int'l segment, having never been Op Upped (not much change there QF Thanks AFF and everyone who helped me, my family and my loose selection of affiliated individuals enjoy, experience, endure my travels. Special mentions must go to: serfty (for the serftymobile) NM (for the general encyclopaedic knowledge of aircraft seating - and not mentioning the bus) Lindsay Wilson (for the great transfer to AAdvantage) That Chick on BA10 (for being the first attractive seat buddy I have had - and surprisingly being the first random stranger (non-AFF) I have guested into a lounge - obviously the two events are not connected) The ever so slightly camp CSD on BA (after we were upgraded to F due to issues and then looked after "his poopsie" [aka my wife] who was not well) Baggage Handlers around the world (for being so inept that I discovered the joys of Hand Luggage Only) The stunning crew on CX in F (whose biggest flaw was requiring me to hold down the food trolley during turbulence whilst they quennelled the sour cream for with the smoked salmon) CX (for just being) CX (for the win and the Pier) Marc Newsom (for the SYD F lounge) QF009 (for being the first AFFer I met) My G+T Guy at the Conrad in HKG (for the hugs) My Drivers (for waiting 3 hours for me at SYD after I changed flights and forgot to tell and then never billing me for it - I spend $400/month on average with them now...) The AA Pilot that plays a Train whistle on take off - all aboard! medhead (for just being medhead) There are many more I am sure and if you are a friend on Facebook then you know who you are However dishonourable mentions go to Neil Perry (for being able to make a soup that was both tasteless and tasted unpleasant at the same time) Neil Perry (for the food in J) Neil Perry (for the duck and random assortment of spices overpowered by the chilli in the NPPP)* Cabin crew that don't even try to read the menu and serve the food wrongly Seat buddies that want to engage in conversation annoyingly from boarding until the first chance they get to move seats - guys if you are going to engage you should be in it for the long haul Mumbai Mumbai Did I mention Mumbai? Domestic whY for gods sake whY is there so much of it As with the thanks there are another hundred people that could get a mention here - sadly they don't know who they are and what they could do to improve. *Having "met" NP at the AFF/QFF lunch I actually have to say that he is a really nice person who simply has a different cooking philosophy to me |

Well just to further pad this thread I thought I would reflect that almost 6 years ago I stumbled on this site, refusing to credit to AA, having never flown a premium long haul int'l segment, having never been Op Upped (not much change there QF :-|), had foolishly asked someone if they were QF top tier - GOLD I thought, didn't even know that F lounges existed but also believed that the hostess got younger and perkier the close you got to the aircraft nose... 10,000 posts later here we are debating the best way to enjoy the degustation in QF F!
