Not in my experience ...l
You may actually be right. Meze tasting plate or soup for 5:55pm service. Don't get me wrong the tasting place was nice but is not dinner. I specifically did not eat in lounge as I was already in business.

I honestly think VA is a seriously confused airline.

Amazing long-haul and day C2C. Horrible overnight C2C/short haul intl and very average domestic.

I fly several times weekly, am Platinum with both and think VA is still very LCC if you discount LA, Abu Dhabi and A330 day flights.

I sent feedback after my own carrot soup experience - along with the flight crew that spent 3 hours serving it while hanging out with their mates in row 3. Didn't get a phone call but the follow up email was appalling. Worst money I ever spent.

They don't understand their marketing will come undone if their product is woeful.

Yes, I must agree. This week we flew MEL - PER on a330 (economy, decided not to upgrade) and my partner wanted a blanket to which I said "they don't offer blankets". Proceeded to ask FA and got the response "we don't have blankets on board". Other half's reply to me ... "I thought they advertise themselves as a full service airline" ... My reply/action <puts on headset and watches movie>.

tasting plate.

I knew they offered one!!! That's the pantry menu ???? When they come and ask what you want from the pantry menu (naturally requesting them to take your order) my reply is "all of it on a tasting plate please".
They've always done it for me and brought out extra chips when further asked. The best was when a friend who works as VA FA served me once and totally lost it and cracked up laughing. Her response was "I should've known!"

I had the pleasure of upgrading recently to The Business, Perth to Melbourne. What a lovely experience it was. The seating/bed is just so comfortable, the food was delicious and the whole experience was well worth the points for me.
