The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

Fair enough though to be honest don't see it as fighting, you're expressing an opinion, I'm expressing a different one with some evidence/facts to support it, that's what a forum is for. We don't all have to agree about everything.
We have both expressed an opinion, both provided evidence. To continue after that feels pointless :)

The public mood on restrictions will change as the vaccination rollout progresses, especially once we reach about 50%-60% fully vaccinated. If they don't come up with a reasonable plan to ease restrictions I expect the minor party protest vote in the Senate will increase at the next election. This possibility will put pressure on both major parties to come up with reasonable plans.

Up until Friday or so, this date was Feb 2022 - I assume this means that the uptake rate (and corresponding availability rate) is picking up pace. I am really hoping that by Sept/Oct we see December 2021 as the date in this box.

I hope people in NSW and elsewhere take up the AZ and the date is updated sooner.

Yesterday's vaccination numbers are out. 16.29% of 16+ fully vaccinated, so we should be at 1/6 fully vaccinated or extremely close when today's numbers are released tomorrow.

Every 5 year age group 40-44 and up except for 60-64 has at least 1/7 fully vaccinated. Considering 60-64 is at 14.2% which is just slightly below 1/7 that should change when today's numbers are released tomorrow.

The 40-49 and 70-74 and up fully vaccinated numbers are looking good (still a lot more work to go though).

Greg Hunt also called out the ACT for having over 94% of over 70s with a first jab, as showing what is possible. Even though some of those will be regional NSW, although probably not as many as in the younger age groups, it’s a fine effort. I am generally not a fan of ACT Health, but they are doing a really good job this time.

It certainly makes it clear that getting anywhere to close 100% fully vaccinated is not going to happen.
This has been clear for a very long time, but the govt has chosen to ignore it.

Given the US, Canadian and UK experiences, I think 70% is the likely vaccination rate.

The comments on that video are unreal.
Wow. That was illuminating. I knew there were some unpleasant people in this world, but that's a whole new level of nastiness and ignorance for me, as I don't normally bother to read the half-wits' comments. Hard not to think that some of them deserve to get Covid.

With two more people having died today from Covid in NSW, it won’t be long until the number of deaths from Covid in the last month will be double the deaths from Astra Zeneca since the vaccination started in Australia. So sad :(

Not neccessarily due to covid though.Men with low testosterone levels are more likely to get covid so not surprising there are more than expected men with lower testosterone levels in covid patients.A classic which is the chicken and which the egg.
But, but, but, adopting our fearless leaders' approach - never let the facts get in the way of an announcement! ;)
