I know this is very much in the category of 'first world problem' but does anyone have any ideas as to how I can avoid the truly heinous coconut noodle curry special meal that seems to be on high rotation for the past year or so on QF??
I'm a VLML (lacto-ovo special meal), and although QF seem to have 3 - 4 other pretty good options doing the rounds at the moment (Szechuan tofu, spinach and ricotta ravioli and the good 'ol tomato penne pasta), I swear I am getting this insipid creation 9 times out of 10. The past 5 or 6 times I've sent it back and had cheese and crackers for dinner. Plus fruit (in the form of wine, of course!) but this isn't really 'dinner'.
Given I'm travelling approximately 1 - 2 times per week and often travelling late afternoon / early evening when the Qantas Club in either Perth or Brisbane have been cleaned out entirely (save a few bits of salad) this is really starting to do my head in!
Spoke with the QFF folk today, but no joy there. Is there another category that the coconut horror is excluded from that I could change to... perhaps VOML or AVML? Or does anyone know if there is a specific area within QF that can advise in detail re: in-flight catering /menus?
I did ponder whether I should fake an allergy to coconut... although I doubt QF's systems are sophisticated enough to deal with a request that specific in any event.
