The end of the Rewards Maximiser Card

I was told on phone this morning about the maximiser turning into platinum for $195. For me is a good deal I was trading anyways but was going to be charged $395 incl free flite/hotel. I don't mind losing the flite/hotel. Just booked flites for 74000 for 2 ppl in business saver from Hong Kong to Bris thru Kris flyer. All good for me

74000 Krisflyer miles for two from BNE to HKG? How did you do it. Isn't it 90000 for one?

Kris Flyer "Saver" level fare HKG to BNE (via SIN) in Business is 45000 miles each pax one way less 15% online booking saving. Making 76500 for 2 pax one way. 90000m is "Standard" level fare one way, one pax.

Got the letter, called Amex to cancel my card due to the change. A very nice lady offered me $250 credit stright after my cancellation request.

My maximizer card suddenly stopped swiping properly and the nice lady from amex arranged for my platinum card to be sent out to replace the gold maximizer 3 years early.
