Does everyone book through the GHA app? or do you book directly through the hotel and add your member number then? Wondering if this at all makes a difference
Always through the app/webpage. At the Atura Hotels (dunno about Rydges), there is no-one at check-in any more (just some person to 'help' with the check-in-on-a-tablet. Absolutely loath it. Wouldn't trust them to enter member number properly.

I will either book through either of these websites: GHA, Pan Pacific, Park Royal, OAKS.
No problems getting D$ and stay credit for all those direct methods above.
It's worth checking the GHA website and the brand website as they sometimes have different rates/inventory/availability between the GHA and the direct brand site!!
I've got a three night stay coming up in an OAKS in August in Queensland that was about $172 via GHA website or ~$242 via OAKS website!!
Regardless of which direct website I use always been logged into my Discovery account when making the booking.
I'll only use the app to book when they have a D$ bonus for app bookings which they have done a few times.
I have called up OAKS on a couple of occasions over the last 5 years and made a direct booking on the phone where they have taken my DISCOVERY number, or dropped off or added extra nights, sometimes they just add a second new booking for adding extra nights and can then get me a better rate then the website closer to the existing rate of my booking.

Hi all,
Saw the promotion for purchasing D$ and thought it might be a good way to save a bit of money on an upcoming stay. Purchased 10 D$ (as a test), see in my account, but when I try to book the hotel (Marco Polo Hong Kong), I don't see the option to pay using D$, only credit card.
When/where do I get to pay using D$?
I want to avoid accidentally paying for a non-refundable rate entirely on my CC, just to find out I cant use the D$ I just bought.
If it’s a prepaid rate you can’t use discovery dollars online, only credit card.
Flexible rates the discovery dollars applied at checkout but the credit card for any bookings I made has only been to secure the booking with no charge or pre auth at the time of booking. Just a preauthorise for the full amount plus bond at checkin
If I was really keen to book a prepaid rate I’d probably call the hotel and say “hey I want to book this rate but can’t do discovery dollars online” and see what they could do for me.
GHA Titanium here and have an upcoming booking in Pan Pacific Singapore. However, I booked through Luxury Escapes. Anyone have any experience on whether they would honour tier benefits?
Absolutely but they are very hit or miss on room upgrades from my experience. Some properties are great but others don’t offer a single room upgrade let alone a double as a Titanium.
I was investigating doing the status match above as I have a couple of NH stays planned early next year but the Mastercard link posted earlier in the thread still works.
Successfully used my Citi Premier card to bump myself to platinum until the end of 2026 (which will do, given that the free breakfast offer doesn't seem to extend to NH Hotels).

Complimentary breakfast (“Benefit”) is a benefit of the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty programme, available from the following dates (the “Benefit Start Dates”) at the hotels of the following brands (“Participating Brands”):
from 5 April 2024: Lore Group, Lungarno Collection, Maqo Hotels, Marco Polo Hotels, Mysk Hotels, Niccolo Hotels, Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts, Shaza Hotels, and Grand Hotel Heiligendamm;

I used the Mastercard offer earlier in the thread. This gave me an expiry of December 2026. (Mind you, for platinum, you only have to stay in two chains...)
We gained GHA titanium this year after our holiday. I found the GHA program wording and the way the hotels participate is really poor. At the start I had a few issues with hotels not crediting stays onto the app. I contacted GHA and they flatly refused to act or help. I was told it was my responsibility to contact the hotel and get them to provide proof of stay and then I was to forward this to GHA who would get back to me in 30 days. I was on holiday, I didnt have a computer, I didnt have the time to waste and I rapidly lost faith in the "help "desk.
The delay in getting the booked stays recognized meant we didnt have any status while on holiday. If the trip went to plan we would have had Titanium for Singapore and Melbourne.
We went to Sydney last weekend and stayed at the Parkroyal Darling Harbour. The T&C for GHA state I will get a double room upgrade subject tot availability and complimentary breakfast at participating hotels. There is nothing about who offers free breakfast.
We arrived and were told that we had an upgrade to a club room. Then we were asked if we had booked breakfast. I thought that breakfast was complimentary, but this hotel only offers a discount if pre booked. And I thought the club offered breakfast. It seems that our definition of a club room is different from the hotel and GHA. The club room offers no club benefits at all and they were polite but unyeilding on this point. They have to give an upgrade but they dont have to offer the amenities.
Ok, its their game, their rules, but as far as customer satisfaction goes, we were not impressed. Imagine if you had a flight upgraded to J, but they turned the IFE off, refused PJ and blankets and came through with Y F&B.
Ok, rant over and its a first world problem but I thought I would share the poor GHA experience.
