So what do you prefer? the conveyor type found in hotels and lounges or the pop up type that you have at home. Personally for me, I prefer the pop up type you have at home as the conveyor ones at hotels are never set right and I have to put my toast through two or three times to get it the browness I like.

I actually prefer the conveyor  It's quite convivial waiting with fellow guests. Don't mind if it has to go in a second time. The number settings on regular toasters are too unreliable IMHO unless it's my own home toaster where I know the exact shade of brown that each turn of the dial will produce ;)
For those who like a regular toaster the Exec Lounge at Hilton Surfers has one.

Prefer the pop, but for a shared area (eg lounge/hotel), you cant beat the efficiency (ie number of users) of the conveyer

One of the great unknowns on entry to the QP is whether the day is going to be a 4 pass, 5 pass or even 6 pass run with the crumpet on the conveyor!

I prefer pop up, then I can hit the abort to stop my toast getting too toasty.
My wife calls my toast warm bread...

Conveyor for me. It's always fun to decide under toasted with 1 run or extra crunchy with 2 runs :)

Neither are ideal unless you are setting the controls. However in a group situation, the conveyor is better and more speedy.

At home, I can't see anyone installing a conveyor lol (although I believe at least one member here has a huge family!).

My preference is the conveyor. Lots of people can use it at once and it doesn't worry me having to put it through more than once.

I really don't care as I want a toaster to cook the toast properly irrespective of what type it is.

Unfortunately I am yet to find that toaster :!:

I don't use either,I bought a commercial salamander grill at a catering equipment auction last year and I use it for super quick toast and bacon done perfectly,
after working as a chef for 22 years I couldn't handle a pop up toaster so bought the salamander and a small commercial espresso machine, now all I need is a
combi steamer oven and I would be in kitchen heaven.

Conveyor for raison toast is just about right for me, other bread types take at least 2 trips and is a PIA.

Popup. You can get one for $9!

Indeed you can-my sister bought one last year,it lasted a week before bursting into flames.
Still you pays your money and you takes your chances.

Did she get a refund or exchange as it should be under warranty?;)

I now skip the toaster and just apply the Vegemite or Jam to my pancakes/pikelets :)
