The House Sydney Airport

I believe at least in Sydney state law requires booze to be served at noon or after so not necessarily a lounge issue.
Haven't had any problems at all getting a drink in a SYD Intl lounge in the morning, although I didn't like the attitude if the staff in the Amex lounge.

This includes the House, both Qantas lounges, the SQ lounge and the NZ lounge.

So clearly nothing to do with Sydney licensing laws.

Nonsense. Nothing like a glass of bubbles or a bloody Mary in the QF Flounge as the sun rises. You aren't thinking of Ontario licencing laws, by any chance?

Yes, plenty of “early openers” in SYD. QF F being my favourite…😁

But slightly OT, I’d forgotten but noticed last Sunday that the QF Dom J lounge in PER has a sign at the bar saying ”State law requires to be served by bar staff”! I’m sure I’ve helped myself to wine in the VA PER lounge many times. Can’t say I’ve been in the PER QP for a decade or more…

In the FIFO heyday, there were some real issues with a few of the the Hi-Vis brigade causing consistent problems. I don't believe it could be a general state law; more likely a licencing restriction (if there is indeed a legal basis).
