Airbus held an international press event in Toulouse yesterday and reports from the Australian media who attended are starting to come in.

A first close up look at the soon to fly A350 prototype
It’s one of those hot clear southern French spring days, with a line of thunderclouds giving away the location of the nearby Pyrenees, and the jets tracing contrails across a sky of clearest blue above Toulouse Blagnac Airport.

Airbus supersizes the A380 superjumbo
If you think the Airbus A380 is already a tightly-packed plane, wait until you see what’s next: a supersized superjumbo with as many as 22% more seats and the spectre of an 11 abreast layout in economy lurking just over the horizon.

Airbus reveals iPhone-enabled 'smart bag' with RFID tracking
Airbus is best known for aircraft like its A380 superjumbo and the next-generation A350 jetliner, but the company has cooked up something else to delight the traveller: a prototype 'smart' bag complete with a companion iPhone app and 'Find My Bag' function to track lost luggage.

That seat map with F on the upper deck seems like the direction Qantas should have gone, then they could either put Y+ at the back of J or at the front where F used to be. Slight reduction in F (if taking that design alone), increase in J (perhaps to accommodate for reduction in F), same amount of Y+ (at the back) and from my rough adding/subtracting... still an increase of 55 Y seats over the refresh! :p

Probably a bigger job to do all that on each A380, but a much better use of space, clearly. Airbus has been doing a good job there!

What's all the fuss? That front of the upper deck looks quite comfortable to me :p
