I think post 1 says it all.

Sandgropers and frequent visitors to the west will be pleased to hear that we announced this morning that we will open The Lounge in PER in April next year.

As well as our own guests there will be some arrangements with Skywest for customers on their network.

Actually the latest ETA was December.

The Lounge in Perth will open in December 2009 and will be conveniently located on the ground floor of the Virgin Blue terminal, immediately through the security screening point.

After now reading the whole thread I would also think it was time for an update.

If in fact it is due to open in a few days you would think we would have heard about it.

... But you earn a gold star for retracting your comment.

I wonder if the Perth lounge will feature the same fare (mushroom risotto, pumpkin soup, cold meats etc) that I have become accustomed to at other DJ lounges.

The Sydney lounge had two types of pasta and two soups last week, it was a pleasant change to the risotto, regardless I still think they leave QF for dead.

Agree with you here. The Lounge is a much more pleasant experience than the Qantas Club.

It's a pity that the rest of Virgin Blue isn't up to the same high standard as the Lounges.

I want to try this risotto but they've run out! And it seems I have some extra time, due to a complete system failure for four hours this morning.

I would think the opening is set for early next week as they have a deadline for furniture deliveries of this Friday.

My first visit to the new Perth Lounge.


The only thing missing in that review was the obligatory.....



New staff behind the bar. Asked for a crown and some chips. He pulled out the teeny tiny standard Lounge chip bowl and then looked at me and said "Do you mind if I give you a packet?"
