That's quite a tale.

Quite a tale but no, probably not anything like the worst I've heard. I had a whole day (i.e. 24 hours) once of hanging around on a UA flight, 4 pm flight cancelled, mucked around for a few hours, sent to a hotel, up at 8 to the airport in Seoul and similar excuses all day. Flight finally left at 5.

There are of course many tales of frustrations, delays etc. Most frequent flyers have them. Usually though the level of frustration is higher the shorter the distance between the two airports.

So when you are delayed 8.5 hours, and the place you are travelling to is only 4 hours drive away it can be more frustrating than when you know flying is the only way to get where you are going in a time effective manner.

... AA expanded a bit too quickly in Los Angeles when they merged with US Air.

Interesting ... I did not think USair had direct LAX/LAS flights - I knew a good MR for Airpoints where you could get 30 SP's for USD480 as you had to travel via PHX.

Serfty we have driven to Las Vegas for more than 10 years as it is an easy drive in an unlimited mileage hire car.
