I flew out of ADL on the 2nd. When I asked about the opening of the lounge I was told 'two weeks'. So the 16th suggested by @AIRwin above might be right.
Fingers crossed - MrsK and I will be flying out of ADL on 8 March in the evening, so it would nice to check it out. At least we have the Coopers Bar or the Penfolds Wine Bar and Kitchen as Plan B.

Tad disappointed to miss the opening today.
Had to head to SYD today on the 0600 and was at the airport just before 0500 so thought I might get 20-30min in the lounge before departure. Wandered down there and things looked promising with lights on, staff inside and a couple of blokes cleaning the windows. 15 minutes later with about a dozen folk lined up we were told grand opening at 1000 and had to hastily go grab a coffee before boarding.
Oh well I’ll try on arrival this arvo

Does anybody have a link to images or a press release? The only thing I saw was from Adelaide Airport on Instagram. Seems strange that VA haven’t done a press release?

They’re probably making a feature length documentary 😂.

I’ve taken some screen grabs from the Adelaide Airport page for others to see. Seems to have a bit of a retro feel in the signage? Reminds a bit of a 50s-60s American diner signage.

Not sure if this is paywalled, but article in the local rag (The Advertiser website) with some images care of VA. Not hard to improve on the old Adelaide lounge, but this looks like a great improvement on the other typical VA Lounges interstate.

Time to send Virgin into the next era, the old lounges carry too many bad memories from the past. Good to see something new and fresh as they take the place to the next level.

I like.

They can keep the Betty's Burgers in VA lounges. That would be an amazing addition!

The Betty's Burgers stuff is only until next weekend, unfortunately.

But the new catering in general is definitely an improvement over the current offering in the BNE/SYD/MEL/OOL lounges. There are salads, wraps, cheese plates and a full range of drinks (although you have to order on the app and they bring it to your table).
