Well, there were me and mum disembarking from AA1923 SFO-LAX today, exited aerobridge at gate whatever at LAX, and who were slouching by the wall waiting to board the plane we just got off (they were going LAX-SFO) - those well-known ne'er-do-wells Hvr and petej. Busy flying schedules for them both apparently. We chatted for a couple of minutes then were on our way.

I think that is the first random run-into-AFFer I have had on my travels (other than FlyboyAl on a plane).

Has anyone else run into other AFFers by chance (I'm sure they have)?

It is a shock to see someone you know that is completely unplanned.

I will stick to airport meet ups.

Feb 14 2009 Anat0l and myself were doing a JQ35 run and who should we run into at Melbourne airport none other than Straitman and Straitman + 1.
Jan 29 Canberra, I was flying MEL-CBR-BNE on Virgin Blue but using the Qantas lounges. I had about 4 hours in the lounge and who should walk past me but PeteJ who was also enjoying some final Qantas anytime lounge access.
May 27 2011 Brisbane airport where I caught up with holdenxman, this was half planned, we were going to be in the airport at the same time in 2010 but we missed each other by less than an hour, but our paths crossed almost exactly a year later.
Nov 22 2011 I was flying back LHR-SIN on QF010 and I notice an AFFer with the same picture on foursquare( Ianbaker??) and then to my surprise there was El Rooto was on the same flight, surprisingly El rooto and myself had both posted on the meets thread for November 2011 but no one had bother to read it properly and realize we could be in the lounge at the same time, and on the same flight.
Feb 18 2012 Melbourne Fanatic125 had just flown in from Hong Kong so we had a brief 10 minute chat before my flight back to Brisbane.
There have been a few other airport meet ups where it was half planned, the schedules were going to cross so you sort of expected to catch up but you are never sure as you are on different flights.

And great to meet you as well. :) I've never had an international random meeting before but have had a domestic one in BNE with anatol01.

It was fortunate that we lined up early, it was a totally packed flight to SFO and there was a lot of luggage reorganising even in first class.

See you again on 19 May.

Cheers! Our flight was not quite packed out, but the carry-ons were a sight to behold, both in number and size, and the overheads were filled to capacity. Mum had Group 2 and Group 4 printed on her BPs for our round-trip LAX-SFO, but she boarded with me when 1st and EXP and OWE were called - just as well!

Was good meeting you guys and see you in CBR!

How did you know? Had you met them before? I have never met any AFFers so pretty good chance I never will randomly bump into one! Unless we get chatting :)

I run into affers quite a bit. But yes you need to have met them, they have a tag on their bag or they recognise you from photos online.

Yes, had met them multiple times before, along with many other AFFers (though not FlyboyAl, he had an AFF bag tag). :)

SO was on a CNS/BNE flight coming home from a work trip & sitting in 4F & Samh004 was in 4D & they both recognised each other.

YQY grabbed me by the shoulder arriving into SYD - we had been sitting across the aisle from each other the entire flight.

I also guested Zippy7 into the Wing F lounge.

I've ran into many AFFers in domestic lounges by chance.

Internationally only one - PeteJ in the ORD Flagship lounge.
