Squitchy Lane was big hit in the house of Boomy so much so that we've ordered another dozen of the 2012.

Terrific thread.

I have also just purchased a dozen of the 2012 Squitchy Lane PN. Nearly gave up though as the website was very unco-operative and wanted to gouge me $20 for delivery. Hopefully have a successful order and looking forward to it.

Shared a Squitchy with a friend this afternoon and must say I enjoyed it. Didn't find the nose floral like other Pinots and I thought it a touch dryer. I would really have liked to line it up against another Pinot or 2 for a direct comparison.

I had a similar issue with the second purchase but Michelle from SL is fantastic and the service was superb. Get in touch if you have issues at all, she'll fix them for you.

Thanks for the offer. Managed to get it to stick at $10 (which I think was appropriate for delivery to Canberra?) rather than the $30 that kept coming up initially. So all ok in the end.

also 98pt Dry River Pinot Noir 2014 $120
Dry River wines of Martinborough a well-kept secret for too long

Was a bit underwhelmed by the 2014 of this. Although that was on a special of a similar nature so probably can't complain at this price point for Pinot.

Yes, I wasn't too impressed by it either, but like other Yarra Valley pinot noirs, 2015 is better :)

Recognise most of you. Can't believe I've just found this thread! I can feel my wallet emptying as we speak! What are the best pinot deals in the $30 range at the moment?

WhereyabinBru?

Just filled up with some 8 cases after Mornington peninsular trip, about a third Pinot, but most above $30. For the start was impressed with Tuck's Ridge, $45-$100, (try TR Tempranillo- fabulous!), Paringa Estate, $50-$120, Red Claw $25 but much prefer their Yabby Lake single vineyard at $53 (and the YLSV Block 2 at $95 is fab), Massale $26, plus a number of others.

"Life's to short to drink sub $30 Pinot." said TheRealTMA July 19, 2016.

Me too Sedi, in between responding to the Guardian's rhetoric at times. I need a drink.

You are definitely right, and probably prove that you have to spend a little bit, or probably a lot more to get outstanding pinots compared to shirazes.
