The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

No, change of partners means the points start again for the second airline.

You have to pay each sector separately.

Hey - me been a lowly bronze member, ive upgraded to a business class domestic seat - im assuming I can bring in a guest in business lounge, if they are flying on same day? - 99% sure I can - I must be blind, as cant see rules on Qantas website

One accompanying guest permitted and must be travelling on QF, JQ or oneworld®# marketed and operated flight on the same day.

Unsure if this is answered elsewhere but thought I'd ask: does one earn status credits if they are a Points Club member travelling on a partner operated classic award if the classic award carries a QF flight number? For instance, flying KLM business award but it's got a QF flight number?

Can partner awards be booked with QF flight numbers? I thought it usually defaults to the operating carriers code

Correct. There are a couple of exceptions SB is/used to be one.

The QF search might show a QF codeshare for sale (eg EK and FJ) but if you click through to CR it switches the code to operating carrier.

Also, to get a KL operated, QF codeshare (eg SIN-AMS), I would expect that to have to be booked with a QF feeder flight from Oz.

It’s not KL by the way I simply used it as an example to hide the identity of this “opportunity” and it’s not originating or terminating in Oz either.
