Mrsdrron told me afterwards that some Aussie actress was also there.

There were several things wrong with the room IMO. Firstly if you are going to spend a zillion dollars renovating an old building in a noisy city - double glaze the windows. (This also applies to the Westin Sydney heritage rooms ) Second give the room decent lighting. The curtains needed to be open to allow light in, but then the people in the building opposite could see in as well. The room "looked" large but really wasn't when you took in the bathroom area that should have been walled off. Ron had also booked this hotel for our next Sydney stay in April. I have made him cancel it.
You both seem to be avoiding mentioning said actress (PC=actor)?

That's because Ron never recognises ANY celeb/actor/actress ( Charlize Theron he walked straight past her in the Sydney International terminal !!!) and because I cant remember said Sydney actress name - although I did see her on the tele a few weeks later and yelled out to Ron thats her ! but the credits were too quick to see her name !

The Old Clare is definitely on our do not return to list. For our next booking in SYD the SOTP was now cheaper anyway.

Our 3 days in Sydney was all about family. On Saturday night we went out with our granddaughters and daughter-in-law to Vino e Cucina at the Fiveways Paddington.I started with the Tasmanian sea trout carpaccio, mrsdrron the carpaccio. Both excellent-

Thoroughly recommend it.
On the Sunday afternoon we flew back to the Sunshine coast.Spent time in the QF J lounge with JohnK,his wife and baby with a guest appearance by samh004.John's daughter is delightful. We got on well.

Monday we went down to Brisbane to see our grandson playing chess. After it finished we had dinner at the Blue Pineapple hotel.I can also recommend it.good food and service at a reasonable price. They also had a Jamaican alcoholic ginger beer which I enjoyed.I had the lamb shank and mrsdrron the ribs-deboned.

It is close to the Gabba and has a large dining room.As I said recommended.

So that ends this TR.Different to the usual. We will definitely spend some time in a Bangkok apartment again some time.Bangkok certainly has become more than street food with varied and very good food offerings.
And rather than LA Pasadena makes a good base. The Huntington gardens are worth a visit.

The next TR will begin soon.Just over 2 weeks until we leave for South America and the slow boat to Capetown.

Another epic! It shows how different we all are - a month in Thailand would be about 28 days more than I would want. Thank goodness though, imagine if everybody only went to Paris - the place would crumble in a week! :)

I hear the next epic is just around the corner!
