The Stocard App

Came across this one which seems to be getting a lot of people across.

Supercards - SuperCards | Loyalty Cards
I can see one major difference between mobile-pocket and SuperCards:
SuperCards use Google to log in, so you cannot share an account with another person e.g. your kids
mobile-pocket allow sign up using e-mail address, so you could share the same account, hence cards, with other people.

CardStar has barcodes.

Pretty basic but does the trick. I hardly use it now because I think everything is in my Apple wallet or seperate app.

Register with an email.

is that the android version?

on iOS it doesn't seem to have any login, and cards seem to store in icloud - though I'm not sure how that works, when I imported into my iPhone and then later added the app to iPad there didn't seem to be any way to have what was on the iPhone reflected on the Ipad.

Unfortunately with Stocard I can't seem to find any import or linking process in Stocard or Klarna

With SuperCards, you go to Google Play, and the last picture has the message that you don't need to sign up, back up using Google account.

Yeah nah, I don't like that. Being an Android person, I want to know and control how I share and store my data, so I know where to back up to and where to retrieve from. I am not comfortable with things being saved 'somewhere', because this means that I don't know if it's backed up properly. I hate data loss.

I have 'Stocard will shut down in 13 days' message on the app (running ios). Stocard is moving to the Klarna app and it claims it can migrate my cards to the Klarna app in less than 2 mins. I have received no email advice.

I just checked and I’m not logged in. I can’t find a way to reset password and I don’t know which email address I used so I’m not sure how that’s going to work

No alert for me either, but the proposed shutdown was outlined in the FAQs.

I therefore moved to an alternative app so I didn’t lose everything.

Took some time, was a bit of a drag, but I’d rather migrate on my terms than be left in the lurch if Stocard disappears.

I’m using mobile-pocket.

I played around with a few that were highly rated in the Apple charts.

There were some with better UI and useful features, but with only allowed 3 to 5 cards before a subscription kicked in.

Is mobile-pocket free for unlimited cards? And does it work OK?

Free for unlimited cards and works well.

Pros:
  • Multiple users in the household can share cards. So if Mrs H is at Woolies she doesn’t need to find a screenshot of my EDR card, she has immediate access to all cards for the family.
  • Allows you to add your own image so you can add a photo of your physical card instead of an icon or logo.
  • You can generate a bar code, but you need to know the barcode type used by the relevant loyalty program

Cons:
  • Limited rage of card logos, especially for AU.
  • Adding barcodes was a bit of a hassle.
