The tough choice to stay WP or stay Velocity Platinum

The main problem for me with that, is that fact that you have to be on an expensive flexible fare to be eligible. The one time that I tried to find out whether I would be able to get an upgrade, VA told me that there are only a few of these available on each flight!?

I was flying on a certain day, and they told me that I could only upgrade from a flexible fare to J on a 6am flight that day.

Have only flown once with DJ ( return MEL-BNE-MEL) and got upgrade on BNE-MEL without difficulty.

Even flew forward and was able to get J seat, J was only half full......

So in theory, you could upgrade from a Sale fare to PE using one of the 4 free upgrades? If so, that's good to hear. The one time that I did fly with VA as a Platinum, I was given an op up at the check in desk and I was on a sale fare. It was an international flight, so I'm just glad to hear I haven't missed out as it was a nice experience in 1F.

The website does state what I was told over the telephone, which is why I was under the impression that you had to have a Flex fare:

I also just realised that the upgrades are for domestic flights only. Lucky me, I guess then.
