The Velocity Status Run Master thread

Does anyone have a better $ per SC right now (well at least for the next 13 days). BNE-MEL or OOL-MEL is currently $359 in J one way and nets 80 SC working out at $4.49 per SC.

I've booked a few flights recently via the commbank travel portal and thanks to having yello plus (made 30 transactions in the last month) get 10% back as a travel credit instantly meaning $35.9 back (to use later on travel bookings) so really paying $323.1 for a price of $4.04 per SC.

You won't get better than MEL - OOL :)
From April 2 you'll be paying $12 per SC no matter what route you are on (Choice to Bus), as I am sure you are aware.
Grab it while you can!

Well aware. I’ve got my SCs locked in for this year so will maintain VA WP until 9 Aug 2026. Trying to decide if it’s worth chasing next year with forward bookings now as I’ve got just one 80SC booking meaning 720SCs to chase which seems way too much.

To spend what like $9k plus or something.

That money better spent elsewhere. Giving yourself a chance to P1 at QF?

Edit; oh you mean book flights prior to the $12th of never devaluation.

Yep

You'll have a lot of cash left over by buying an annual lounge pass + economy X seats.
I only have one VA booking post change and thats a $359 MEL-BNE J ticket only booked because of the flexibility and full refundability it offers otherwise I'd have booked something cheaper!

I actually like flying with VA and they are miles cheaper than QF so just because there FFP has been devalued it doesn’t mean I’ll stop flying with them. It just means I’ll find a FFP that suits my flying and I think that VS Flying Club is a good fit

I too like flying VA.
I agree VA cheaper then QF.
The devaluation won't stop me either flying VA, albiet a lot less.
You have found a niche side venture from flying VA, that's great.
My $$ just won't go exclusively to VA anymore, no loss to me as I'm still fly just as much, just BFOD so only a loss to VA.

Disappointing, but with QF PC+ lounge access and Priority pass via Citi credit card, no need to play the devaluated VA mess.

I've decided and have just booked PER to NADI and back via BNE in "biz". . Would have preferred via SYD as I think it would have accrued a few more status points but it was more expensive (at least of yesterday). Never been to Fiji so thinking 3 days there at a nice resort will also be rather nice and I can reflect why I was not flying on FJ 350!! 🤔🤭..anyway with other VA flights in the bag, and also a few from Singapore, I think I will be ok for another bash at Platinum. .

A good number of VA flights from Nadi to Brisbane are on the Max, so thats great if you like the new metal. I did on our trip from Fiji last year.
