Mrs C's office today - whilst this morning she said the outlook from the air flying in from MELwas "like a set from 'The Martian'" (account the dust), it seems to have cleared this afternoon. She's also advised the (international) attendees at this function that she has arranged for the ship to be moved "out of the way" at 6.45pm and to have their cameras etc ready. And they actually believe she can organise that..... but then I wouldn't be game to doubt her either :)!

That's Noordam. She's off on a jaunt around southern Australia. We saw her out the window of our hotel room this morning. :)

Every mention of the name “Noordam” offends my linguistic sensitivities as a native Dutch speaker! Why did HAL name her sister ships “Oosterdam” (Eastern Dam), “Westerdam” (Western Dam) and “Zuiderdam” (Southern Dam), but this one “Noordam” (supposedly North Dam)? It is not only inconsistent, it is also incorrectly spelled, because North Dam translates to “Noorddam”.
