The view from my "office" [2 photo limit]

re: The view from my "office"

New executive appointment Wooley?

Ahh yes... Sure, let's call it that. Haha.

More for a change of scenery than anything, something a bit more lively. I bring down the average age of Horton Park residents by around 60 years.

I'm in my crib for the longest flight in the world.
Seventeen hours is a long time in the crib, even if the seats are leather-arm-padded :D! Being a good AFFer, shouldn't you be "connect"-ing rather than "direct"-ing?

No, South Cronulla.

Actually, it's Cronulla.

Behind the biggest pine tree, behind the Cronulla Surf Club, is where I grew up. Mum still lives there.

South Cronulla is somewhere else, (to the south).

Of course you are absolutely correct. There is probably something of a put-down when it is called South Cronulla by some of us who surfed Bate Bay back in the day. North Cronulla had some serious boardies, as did most of the beaches to the North (eg Elouera, Wanda). And of course there was The Point and The Alley immediatley South of Cronulla Beach. But Cronulla was generally seen as the family beach, and those of us who began our surfing at North Cronulla always called it South, as if North Cronulla was the centre of the action. Youthful foolishness no doubt, but I still find myself calling it South Cronulla.

Low level fog across Adelaide's parkland.

This is the pit stop area for the Adelaide Clipsal in March.

I thought as much! Sorry, it still annoys me. Old habits die hard. Despite having the beach as my backyard, I never learnt to surf (did not have the coordination ) but was a 'clubbie" for Cronulla S.L.S.C and rowed boats for a while. The Point was 'our' break. The Alley belonged to North Cronulla, being at the sothern end of of North Cronulla Beach. The Island was to the south of The Point. Good memories.
