Apparently POMS has been detected in the local fishery, but not mortal ( unlike in the Pittwater area).

For others: Pacific Oyster Mortality Syndrome - a virus that kills entire Pac oyster fisheries. Struck badly in sthn Tas. (Harmless to humans).

Thats the problem with AC, the bottom rung is lower than pond mud as you describe and it takes a while to get to just a normal humanity status level
