The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

The view outside my real office window 5 mins ago in Sydney. Tomorrow my work day is in Yerong Creek for the day.

I never get bored of this view. Khao Kheow 8th hole B course

And this is the 9th hole B course. Love how the club house is in symmetry with the green mountain behind it.

And in case you are wondering this course is in Chonburi, Thailand and is a 27 hole golf course with Pete Dye's 27 famous/favourite holes and these 2 are the 17th and 18th at TPC Sawgrass where Jason Day won the Player's Championship on the weekend.

Nice stuff JohnK nice hot humid looking too, not hard finding watering holes in such weather.

Hot is just the way I love it. Drink 3.5L of fluid during the round of golf and come back to clubhouse 1kg lighter. ;) Generally a drink stop every 3-4 holes so a Thermos with ice cubes just about lasts. Also have a little cool box to put ice cubes inside.

The 17th hole looks a little more peaceful without the amphitheatre of loud fans. How many times have you found the drink?

, I however love the cold weather and must say I am always put into the Hot anyhow. Sometimes no choice.
Not bad

From the tee box we play it is only ~129yds-138yds and generally only a pitching wedge-9iron for me. I have missed the green a couple of times and one of those it pitched on the green and spun sideways off the green into the water. I have had quite a few 3 putts as well.

How this fellow could believe he could force us out of his way on a narrow bridge is a wonder of Portuguese imagination. We were 4/5ths the way across and he just couldn't wait 10 seconds. Have his licence and other details but the car hire company won't give a toss.:(

That hole looks a bit more forgiving than the 17th at TPC. The bunker's bigger and I assume the green isn't nearly as fast. Did you see the tournament on Sunday? Players who ended up in the middle of the green only had to touch their ball to get it rolling, otherwise they could have easily putted straight into the water.

LOL. Yes it looks and plays much easier than the real 17th at TPC Sawgrass. I think you'll find the majority of amateur golfers including me could not handle lightning fast greens. I don't enjoy golf when a putt rolls off a green into a lake/creek or rolls 40-50 yards down the hill.

I remember our 16th hole at Bardwell Valley once where my 20ft putt ended up back at my feet 3 times. It would reach the hole, stop, then roll back down the hill. Think I had a 5 putt. I know of someone having a 7 putt that day.

Lovely photos JohnK and I hope you played well!

Reminds me of Sergio Garcia's 5 putt at TPC Sawgrass  Watch: Sergio Garcia 5-Putts on Par-4 Fifth Hole at Players | Golf.com.

Some useless trivia. These photos were taken almost a day apart.

Who ever thought that golf balls don't have a mind of their own?

GolfBallInFunnyPlaces.jpg

Plutaluang golf course (Royal Navy course), Sattahip, Thailand. This is the fabulous Lighthouse signature hole with island green. It is the 2nd hole on the North nine. Tough golf hole when the wind blows in your face. One of my favourites along with the island green at Khao Kheow.

P.S. Don't ask the Navy seals for your golf ball back if you go in the water.
