Tsarskoe Selo (the Tsars Village) was our office this morning. It started at the Theodores Cathedral, built by Nicholas II in 1913, and badly damaged by fire during the siege of Leningrad. But thanks to donations from wealthier Russians it is being restored, and a Palm Sunday service had the church packed when we arrived.


The Tsar also built a small Kremlin to protect it, which has not yet been restored.


The Catherine Palace, built by Elizabeth the first to commemorate Katherine I.

There were many tons of gold used in the decorations.

Well the lower and back part of the pelvis is the Ischium bone.Plural ischia.Therefore he will have 2 weeks work sitting on his .........Well you know what.

About to leave our St Petersburg office. This first photo reminds us that St Petersburg is built on over 40 islands, and this canal connecting the Moika to the Neva passes under a section of the Hermitage Museum, and I looked down from the bridging passage on our tour a few days earlier.

We had the great privilege of attending a Palm Sunday service in the Kazan Cathedral the previous day. The music and the spectacle of the service was very moving.
