The view from my "office"

Is that the one they took down in the face of Aswan flooding and re- built?

Correct. They had to move it up from about 10m directly below when the Aswan High Dam was built in the 1960s to create Lake Nasser.

I'm told that it's always sunny here (Brisbane). Not quite the case. High tea at The Treasury hotel was excellent. Bottomless sparkling wine didn't hurt either.

I like the way many Europeans at least do something to stand out when busking. Did you visit the library?
Yes on last visit. Wonderful. This one just a short two night stop over on way to another short two night stop over in Pinhão on way back up into Spain. 32 in Porto today and 37 in Pinhão. Shorts recommended. (No thongs tho.)

Not sure if you are walkers-we walked to Provesende from Pinhao-bit of a long hike but great scenery. Other day we did the Royal tour-some great views

Sounds like a great walk. We are walkers; we walk to the car then drive the rest of the way. Some wonderful roads up and down the edges of the valleys here and stunning scenery. Today in Pinhão is quite hot and humid, not good for walking anyway and there's a lot of smoke haze and ash in the air from forest fires somewhere. Sun is just a dull red ball in the sky.

View from room in the Vintage House Hotel, Pinhão.

Weird red spot is the sun.
