36 hour trip to Perth before heading back to AKL. Managed a lunchtime break from meetings so took the free bus up to Kings Park for the first time on a stunning day.

Lots of families, tourists, local joggers around. Lovely spot. As lucky as a lot of us AFF’ers are to travel the globe, the hour I spent wandering and sitting somehow made me feel so good to be an Australian and to live in this wonderful country.

You timed it well . Those gorgeous pics were certainly not taken yesterday (thick bush fire smoke) or today (10/10 cloud and steady rain from cyclone remnants) :D.

The top pic looks like some reef in the foreground, but I take it as being mainly sea grass? Great photo's. thanks.

Well spotted. We snorkelled two spots - reef first and we then motored over to where all the Loggerheads and sharks hangout.

Belize shares the world’s 4th largest reef with Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras.

Cruise ship central(s).

First from one of my actual work offices a couple of months ago. The second from my Auckland hotel this week. The latter a very popular destination for cruise ships at the moment. Felt like every time I stepped onto my deck there was a new ship in port.

Cool!

Actually, that comment probably better describes your previous post in this thread! I'm incredibly envious of both you and KPC for not only seeing, but photographing the Northern Lights!

May I ask a dumb question? What's the chances of seeing them? ... or are we more likely to go all that way and just see frostbitten toes?

I had two nights in Iceland a year ago and saw nothing. It ended up being cloudy for a week. This time I probably had the night of the season. Both for activity and a cloudless sky.

I chose my week in Norway this time to coincide with a new moon and no sunrise. But I still could have lucked out if the weather gods has so deigned.
