Yesterday we went to the newly opened (November 2020) Perth Museum - Boola Bardip ("many stories"). It was my first visit to the Perth CBD for about 2 years.
The façade - the building on the right is Hackett Hall (1913) which was once the State Library)' There are water misting sprays at the front of the building for kids to play in.
The Old Perth Gaol (1854) is in the courtyard of the new museum.
There is currently a special exhibition of Aboriginal artworks based on the "Seven Sisters" Songline. Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters | Western Australian Museum
The Blue Whale skeleton (stranded not hunted) was always a favourite for kids, including me when younger, visiting the old museum. It has now been placed in a 'dynamic' pose - part way through a diving turn - and suspended from the ceiling of Hackett Hall.
