The delay before the scheduled service was due to start in 4 weeks has caused problems for pax already booked. BA blames Rolls Royce due to engine trouble on the B787 the aircraft type that was expected to carry out the long route from Heathrow to KL. Alternative airlines within the One World alliance are expected to pick up the pax that were booked on BA however many were using Avios and 241 vouchers via Amex to connect at KL for holidays etc which is an additional headache for booked pax.

Already discussed in the other thread, but I wonder whether BA would consider continuing the service through to Oz in the future. An opportunity to return to MEL perhaps? QF codeshare?

Doubt it...mostly due to crewing and also time aircraft away from base. Would be nice to see BA outside Sydney when in Australia but I think these days are long gone.
