The view from my "office"

Back from a weekend visiting mates at Lake Macquarie. Watched Richard Clapton at The Station Newcastle on Sat night. Sunday we sought out the Wangi Wangi gun emplacements WWII relics saved from invasive weeds - Newcastle Weekly ( think the council may have wasted the $50,000 grant for weed eradication.). Topped off Sunday with an excellent club bistro meal at the Rathmines Bowling/Club Catalina-great little club

A sad view from the office today. A young woman went missing whilst swimming in Cataract Gorge about 2 hours ago.

The rescue helicopter likely means she hasn't been found.

Jeepers. Hope she's found safe. Wasn't there a rescue at the Gorge just a few weeks ago?
I read somewhere that there was/is a planned release of a large amount of water in to the area this week.

Yes only a few days ago a man in his 60s was being washed down the rapids but managed to climb onto a rock.
And yes there was a planned release of water earlier in the day.
