The view from my "office"

Nothing so exotic as others, today I give my office in transit.
The mighty Hawkesbury River. Surprisingly difficult to photograph from a jiggling train, with graffiti etched into the windows.
Bridge just visible in the distance.

"When my baby, when my baby smiles at me I go to Woy Woy, Near Umina" Did you sing along and get the tune?

Onward to Newcastle.
No-one tried the song?
Sung to the tune of "I go to Rio"- Peter Allen

I wonder if you will have Dr Howard Gray as a guide? He is just wonderful. If you have the chance or can find it, read his book "Lucretia's Batavia Diary".
Have a great trip.
Have a great time. The area is fascinating.
He was on our cruise as well, and he sells his books on the cruise !!

Howard didn't have any of his books with him when on Coral Discoverer's Abrolhos cruise from Broome to Fremantle, and probably realised he should have brought some aboard. He is always learning! There were only two copies in the library, and none for sale in the "shop". I wanted to buy a copy.

I mentioned in an earlier post the large amount of roadwork underway in Queenstown.

The locals have taken to calling it “Conestown” due to all the fluorescent orange cones use to close roads and redirect traffic.

But whoever designed the signs for the pedestrians clearly likes music of a certain vintage…

A few days into our trip we’d heard from several people that Coronet Peak was closing a week early due to there not being enough snow.

Turned out to be wrong, but the rumour took off.

As a result everyone went to the Remarkables and at times we had entire ski runs to ourself.

Miss H with no one else in sight.

There was one day when staff said they had the mountain open for 138 people.

It made selecting a table difficult.

There were almost as many paragliders as there were skiers.
