The view from my "office"

A changing office view for Pip O'Hare.
Racing in the Vendee Globe around the world race , she was dismasted in the Southern Ocean.
Here she is in Port Philip bay yesterday after 800Nm under Jury rig

There are a series of videos : this link was just after the rig collapsed….https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=876892721276922

The smart parents don’t join their kids, but sit in the outdoor area:

View north (to Scarborough?):

Not surprisingly, our 15yo and 17yo both slept in the car on the way home. Stuffed and sunburnt (no matter how much we tell them about lathering on sunscreen, they seem to ignore 🤷‍♂️)

That thing seems to get bigger each year.

Glad the kids had a nice time.

BTW: View to the north is Woody Point.

Also, did you eat something? This being the food thread…

Our last day in MEL before starting the treck back to CBR kicked off with a morning take away coffee from the delightful Chestnut Tree Bookshop in West Footscray. With the cobwebs dusted off we headed into the city for a long lunch, beers and cricket at the Irish Times with the SIL and her partner.

What next? A rooftop bar! Where? Umm.. found the Fleet Bar at the Vibe on Flinders Street overlooking South Bank just 300 metres away! A humble 22 floors up and the views were awesome, staff were great and the drink prices very reasonable. Highly recommend. IMG_20241229_145521057_AE.jpg

Finished the day at Young and Jacksons on Flinders and Swanston St to watch a rather dismal Australia. Tomorrow we head to Rutherglen for new years via Chiltern for lunch and a couple of wineries along the way for good measure. Safe travels and take care. everyone.
