Easily recognisable office. This person has made it into their actual office. Prime window table, accounts spread all over it, laptop open, on the phone berating some minion about the figures.

Our office today was more orifice than office ... a big smelly and smoking oriface called Mt. Tavurvur, which is an active volcano and destroyed Rabaul in '94 and last erupted in 2016 (smoke and ash mainly).

Have I ever mentioned I hate uphills, but here I was, going uphill ... again! What is it with PNG and hills?
Oh yes, I remember. The fact the whole place sits smack bang on the ring of fire may have something to do with it!


At just under 1/4 km high, it actually makes it an accessible site.

Looks peaceful, but it is still smoking and smelling foul.

Our guides were, once again, fabulous. Great fun, very experienced and protective.

Before the ascent, the guys got a wild foul egg and boiled it up for us in the hot springs. These birds are far smaller than a domestic chicken, but check out the egg size!
