If I knew some Gaelic I would. It's funny I remember travelling with some Irish people a few years ago and they always used to revert to Gaelic when they were being harassed.

btw there was a kid (young man maybe but less than 20) on the train the other day from Strasbourg to Colmar who obviously didn't have a ticket. Both guards were trying to work out what language he spoke and hovered around him for a few minutes and he didn't say a word. In the end they just left him

I must remember that one. Maybe wear a T-shirt with something in Icelandic at the same time.

I love watching documentaries like this. And those of cruise ship builds and hotels. Just saw The Balmoral through Covid times.

On our recent trip to Germany I got sick of being hassled by beggars in some of the big cities so I dredged up my few Japanese words from my Customs days. Counting to ten or asking to see their watch usually worked very well to stop them bothering me.
