Nice! But how? VA SG trumped QF WP 😂

Clearly they KWIA ;)

At check-in in LHR the agent said to me I might be upgrade to F for the next sector and to check with them in DOH. At the lounge in DOH I asked about the upgrade. At first they thought I wanted to pay for an upgrade. I explained what the LHR agent said. He said I'm on the upgrade list. Reading between the lines I think they had either points/paid upgrade requests from Y to J. I knew J was full based on seat selection. So obviously they were prepared to bump J pax to F to make some space. I asked the guy an he said I was third on the list so I pretty much resigned myself to it not happening. He said I'd find out at the gate.

Now why did I get chosen. Not sure if being a QF WP made any difference. Flight was booked only three weeks out in paid J, so perhaps it was a more expensive fare class. Either way, that was my first long haul in F. I don't know how I'll ever be able to slum it in J again. Best sleep I've had on an aircraft. Having a decent width bed made all the difference.

Also, having a bathroom big enough to swing eight cats was luxurious. None of this cramped getting changed business. Then providing proper flannels to wash your face with! Sometimes it's the little things.

Even the taps were special. To be fair though, this was in J, but same as F
