The view or two from my "office"

Today has been OMG beautiful! Photos unfortunately just do not convey the magnificence of Antarctica.

This is just a float by, not an expedition. I saw penguins on ice floes and in the water, Weddell and crab eater seals on ice shelves, Minke whales, and a humpback whale barely two metres away from my balcony! Plus research stations and stunning scenery.

I see from Cruise mapper that you've just transited the channel east of Anvers Island that we did 2 years ago, but this time you turned left, not right :) . Usually a good way to go.

Today's office is the Australian Wooden Boat Festival on the Hobart docks.

Tall ships. Magnificent sight.

Both count as tall ships I guess ( Queen Elizabeth)

We have some yachting friends who are down there for the wooden boat festival.

A good allergens explanation!

Except of course they got it wrong. Most Worcestershire sauces are made with anchovies. So yes to seafood, but definitely not vegan. Or if it is vegan, it cannot by definition contain seafood. *sigh*

(Spring Gully Worcestershire sauce is the only vegan one I know of.)

I didn’t pick that up but yes how on earth can it be vegetarian when it contains seafood?

Yeah, and honestly wasn’t all bad. First long haul in Y in years for us. Was a cheap QR fare, $1500 return, had great status recognition QR gold, including meal options taken once boarded, and their complimentary meet and great service at Doha.
QR really do it well.

Other airlines (AHEM, BA, I'm looking at you!!!) could really take note......

The Mercure Southbank (MEL) - former Travelodge currently has unofficial Yarra River and city view rooms*.

Well, at least until the replacement building across the road arrives…!

Just beware construction sounds on weekdays. It was fine over the weekend.
