I haven't booked much lately but earlier today I went in to look at some redemptions in about 12 months' time (yes I can only get 11 months in advance it seems). Anyway I normally have the log in info saved so don't have to recall my 100 digit Velocity number but this time I had to re-enter it. Found out what I needed to know - that it's nigh impossible to get reward seats SYD-ZQN even 11 months in advance so I gave up on that.

Later today I went back to the site and all my info is gone again even though I have checked the "remember me" box plus my browser saves it too. Have they gone out of their way to log users out every time they want to use the website?

I sort of got used to the three log ins needed to make a booking and got round the check-in online hassles by using the mobile site but this has turned me off afresh. Really not good enough.

Warks, at least they fixed the reward booking side of things. I was trying to book an award business flight for the family Sept/Oct and couldn't as the screen didn't show anything after the guests requiring special assistance statement, but it's all fixed now. I don't have any issues with the site remembering my FF number ( I only have to put in first digit and it brings up the rest). Might it be your browser?? Only a guess.

Now all we need is for them to add the ability to do multi-city bookings.

Is anyone at Velocity listening???????????????????

I was checking out some (paid) fares PER-LAX return a couple of days ago - on the "Select Flights" screen, I selected a different date tab for the outgoing flight and hey presto - all the flight prices were suddenly displaying in USD! I tried refreshing the page, completely restarting the search etc, but the fares kept showing USD. So that's an odd little quirk I've never seen before!

As much as I'd like to believe it's their website (goodness knows I've complained about it enough), I suspect it's actually your browser. Do you use Firefox? I do and it's been randomly "forgetting" website logins that I have saved. Annoying :-|

It's called "Autocomplete" and many web sites turn it off.

Still, the VA sites are not very good at remembering ...

I use Firefox for the PC and Chrome for the tablet and haven't had a problem with either remembering details. I think if its the browser, then it will be good old explorer. Having said that though the VA website can be a very frustrating beast :mad:

In Sept I sent the VA rep on this site a list of over 30 things the VA web site cannot do since the Sabre rollout in Jan 2013. I have yet to hear back from them lately but there are still some problems on that list that have still not been solved.

And yes - months ago the VA rep mentioned an upgrade to the VA web site planned in early Dec 2013 but not sire how many of the problems were fixed. If I were a betting man I would say - not all of them are solved yet. Hence this tread. :lol:

I use Chrome and it has no problem remembering the details for ever other website I used (including QFF). I thought it might have been one of those cookie clean-outs that occur occasionally but I just tried the VA site again and the top shows a blank login box. Even when I type the first digit (which will prompt the autocomplete) I get nothing.

It's got to be the website.

Actually I just tried the Velocity page (as opposed to the VA page) and it did give me my Velocity number when I typed the first digit. Didn't remember the password though.

The info I received from the office of the CEO back in September is that the website was slated for major upgrade (or potentially replacement) this December - clearly they are running late.

Assuming this to be true, personally I am OK with them not fixing the current site if they are working on a replacement which would bring huge improvement to the on line experience.

If the website is changing this December it could be a very clever cost-cutting initiative to coincide their double SC offer with a website upgrade. The payout will be much reduced if people can't actually book their flights before Dec 31 as required!

*I jest, I jest

Yes, it's the website.

VA Homepage:
<li class="velocity-login-panel">
...
<input type="text" class="velocity-flyout-number hint"
name="customerId" size="15" autocomplete="off"
placeholder="Velocity Number" />
<input type="password" class="velocity-flyout-password hint"
name="password" size="15" autocomplete="off"
placeholder="Password"/>

Velocity homepage:
<input id="customer_id" name="customer_id" type="text" value="" maxlength='13' class='text' tabindex='40' id="customer_id" />
<input id="customer_pass" name="customer_pass" type="password" value="" maxlength='16' class='text' autocomplete='off' tabindex='41' id="customer_pass" />

On the VA page autofill is disabled for VFF number and password, on the Velocity page it's disabled for the password.

The rep here has promised that the "Common login" issue would be fixed in december. Not sure what else is to be fixed or whether it is still on target.

Yep... nowhere to be seen.

Same here - seemed to go AWOL after about 11 Sept 2013 for me (although I did notice a few replies to threads in Oct, but very quiet from the official rep).

Ditto here too.

Maybe they have gone quiet as they hoped the enhancements/redesign of the website would have been done by now and all the problems would have disappeared???????????

Hi 777, not sure if the word 'promised' was used, but yes, changes were planned by December. We are following up for an update.

We certainly haven't gone 'AWOL', we just aren't always able to participate in public discussions. I will say that many messages of help for our members have been done privately of late. If you do need something specifically helped with, our inbox is always open.

Hi 777, not sure if the word 'promised' was used, but yes, changes were planned by December. We are following up for an update.

Please keep us informed if that planned update did happen or not - I know that the upgrade planned for Dec wasn't a promise that everything would be fixed - but from discussions here and in other threads we are still finding things that the old pre-Jan 2013 web site could do (albiet very clunky) and now the post Jan 2013 VA web site cannot do. My list that I emailed to you in Sept still stands as a fairly comprehensive collection of known faults/issues with the VA and Velocity web sites.

Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH - Blogs - The Australian Frequent Flyer Online Community

The lack of single sign-on is one of the biggest bugbears and the web site "forgetting" that you are already logged in seems to be one of the most common complaints.

Understand you are busy and often helping people in private messages - but a little bit of public information - when available from the IT guys would possibly assist a lot of people asking the same questions over and over again. Cheers. :)

Well, just tried to book two (2) J return seats BNE / DRW / BNE and got the above error message.

Also needed to book two (2) J return seats BNE / MEL / BNE so them tied to book those and got the same error message again.

Result Qantas now have four (4) J return booking....... and coin in the bank ......... What abysmal joke the Virgin web platforms are.
