The other factor in Asia is that although you can travel on an SQ flight to areas within Asia (from Singapore), many of the regional flights (ie Chiang Mai) are operated by SilkAir which don't allow DJ customers to accrue status credits & points or even access the SQ lounges. Disappointing.

Yes ... and this is the killer problem for DJ's partner collection come claytons alliance. As a flyer with an interest I find it quite difficult to navigate a route using DJ as marketer through their partners whilst maintaining a known standard of in-air and on-ground service. My Mum or Sister wouldn't have any hope of making this work at all and would book hoping for the best and end up disappointed.

End-to-end service is important to me - I don't want guesses and best wishes and gambles, I want paid, known levels of service that can be relied upon (as much as anything can be in this game of course).
