This must be theft?

That's just my views on the subject anyway. As I said, not used such codes before, and the Hyatt really is out of my ballpark anyway! I'm but a student!!

Try some of those codes. ;) Prices quickly get into student price ranges based on my scientific experimentation with such things.

On a related note, the hyatt booking engine allows multiple attempts to enter a corporate code. The OP blocking out 2 digits means people only need to try 20 variations.

Could probably use the "internet-government" code no worries. If they ask:
1. Yeah I booked using the internet, or
2. Yeah I go to a government university

Can you repost the sample of the spreadsheet? It seems some of the discount codes are partially obscured by little black rectangles - which makes them difficult to use.

:D

I haven't got perfect vision but it is pretty easy to figure out the obscured numbers ;)...and there is of course "trial and error"! However, if you use a corporate code that you don't have ID for at checkin, you can be asked to pay the rack rate!! How much of a risk taker are you?? I tend to use the government rate as i have such ID...

DO you reckon they'd still accept a booking from company #146/147?

A bit like putting out bags of candy in front of 3 year olds and asking them to resist from taking any because they are meant for someone else. ;)

Sorry but give me a discount code and I will use it even if not meant for me. Worry about the consequences later if caught.

also 46546 seems to work quite well ;) most of the others seem to be little to no discount, some raised the price.

Great discount if you are looking for a lost in translation moment. 30% off.

Edit: Thanks OP! ;-)

I'm sure that code is available to their good customers. They send us a nice book every so often, due to the number of hard products SWMBO owns. I drink plenty of their product, as do many others here. Seems entirely legit to use the code.

Sure, and hes just asking out of curiosity. I've got a bridge to sell, are you interested?

did you read the question. Words like 'is it legit to keep using the avis card after leaving the employer'. Based on the position taken in this thread that such an action would be theft of company IP, I am having great difficulty accepting that it was an innocent question asked out of curiosity. This thread suggest they very much know the answer to the question according to their own moral compass.

Maybe I should have used icons in my response to indicate irony, yes I agree, I doubt very much he was just being curious.

Oh the doubters in this group.

OK, a phone call to the Hyatt in Sydney and the manager was very interested in the spreadsheet. He was forwarded a copy.

Quote - "Hotel discounts are the property of the company who has negotiated minimum number of stays / spend and is only available to the direct employees of said company". The first manager I spoke with was astounded that this sheet existed and suggested that if the creator of the spreadsheet was indeed a Hyatt employee, they wouldn't be for long, if not, it would be considered theft if it was indeed in the same format as a Hyatt database dump - I'm guessing CSV file. I'm hoping xx_ xx_ xx_ xx_ who was stupid enough to leave his name there isn't an employee.

Here's a small sample of the spreadsheet...

So have you never taken a mistake fare, used a discount code where you shouldn't have? oh wait, you did ask...

Why does it bother you so much you had to phone the Hyatt hotel in Sydney?
