So I want to clarify-

Has anybody succesfully applied the QF (award) to Oneworld (revenue) seperate ticket, through check exemption as shown on their website?

i got onflicting advice (ie email agent says no). but it would be helpful to know if the checkin agents know how to apply the policy exception (i think they should if its in their operating manual)?

I cant help much as I rarely check luggage.

Did see the thread on FT, it was astonishing that customer service basically stated the web page was incorrect. I have copied their reply that you posted:
I'd suggest getting in touch with the Qantas Industry Centre team for further clarification on the policies outlined on their website as Qantas will no longer through check passengers and/or luggage from a Qantas operated flight to another oneworld operated flight booked on a separate eTicket and no exceptions apply
Amazing!
