Hi Guys,

Just wanting to share my experience and check if anyone else had the same.

2 x award tickets, still trying to get it ticketed.

The discrepancy is, from what i can tell e.g. 1. check aa website. 2. called AA and they forward a confirmation email - both show that the ticket is on request.

However, i have called 3 times now, specifically about this issue, they have confirmed everytime that it is ticketed and could not explain why it is showing on request.

Following recurrent verbal reassurance, I finally got given a ticket number. They always tell me i will receive an email showing ticketed but i never do.

Is that good enough? Can i go to the airport with a ticket number and nothing else to show for?

There is a huge background to this but i thought i just cut to the chase.

p.s. I can see it on the qantas website when you go manage my bookings.

Interesting, this will show if its ticketed properly? I will check it out. Thanks!

my situation is abit different. i have received AA email confirming reservation status = ticketed for a BA award redemption (first class to LHR!).

But when i key in the 6 digit number to checkmytrip, i am returned an error message.

What else can i do to get confirmation out of BA website that ticketing has occurred?

or when do i start to panic?

thanking you in advance.

thanking you

Contact AA and ask them for teh BA booking reference. BA use Amadeus and AA use Sabre, resulting in two different booking references for the same booking.

For QF bookings, you can generally enter the Sabre reference into the QF system and it will recognise its Sabre and retrieve the booking. But that may not work with for BA flights.

Sometimes it can take up to 3 days depending on how far away the travel is..

I have found in the past that the AA Sabre reference will work for BA operated bookings when entered directly into the BA Manage My Booking website (ie. Same as it does vis a vis Qantas).

Disclaimer - have not done this in the last 12 months

I agree, type in the AA ref on the BA Manage My Booking page and it will take you to your Qantas/BA booking without fuss.
Did this most recently in July 2014.
