Ticking all the Boxes in Noumea

I enjoyed reading about your trip but am puzzled as to why you would want to come to Adelaide to commence the journey. In fact your trip started in Sydney and Gold Coast.
I understand the extra SC's to be gained ( how important were they) but to pay for accommodation in Adelaide (twice) without visiting the city or surrounds and Sydney, getting through many extra security examinations, the bus trip from Intnl to domestic in Sydney etc. twice seems like a lot of hard yakka or a liking for inflight food. Only a comment not a criticism.
I might take on the trip but living in Adelaide will not need the extra flights!

We did visit Adelaide at the end for AFF12.

Hard Yakka? Yes. But worth it for us. Now enjoying the status benefits for next 18 months.

I hadn't realised AFF12 coincided with the date you arrived back in Adelaide.
I am amazed, if I have read it correctly, that you had all those domestic flights and the international
flights in J for $1345 including fees etc. :)

Are you prepared to share the name/details of the Travel Agent who booked these flights for you? I'd feel a bit sheepish going to a TA who doesn't appreciate the joys of a good multi domestic connection status run. Many thanks. Happy to receive the details in a PM if you consider that more appropriate.

I enjoyed your TR and am inspired to do the same (just need to convince the Gentleman of the indirect routing :D).

@Fifa arranged this run through Alicia Clark who is well known amongst the Frequent Flyer brigade as one who understands the mentality of connecting rather than direct flights.

There are also a couple of members of this community who are agents and could help you with such runs..

As noted above, I have been advised that this particular run is no longer available ex ADL but you should check with your preferred travel agent as to what is currently possible.

Thanks for the tip. The bigger trick is getting it through supply on the home front! But Noumea does look nice for a quick escape not too far from Australia.

“$2,600 return and you’ll earn 880 SCs if we start from ADL. We’ll go ADL-BNE-MEL-SYD-NOU-SYD-MEL-BNE-ADL.”

OK we’re in.

Ok this is my very first post on this forum. I am pretty new to this. Only got my SG from a bali double status run this year.

I am curious how did you book the route? When I search return flights on Qantas website from ADL-NOU, I couldn't find any flights that goes via BNE, and price is definitely not this cheap. What did I miss?

Go back three posts!

And welcome to AFF!

Welcome to AFF.

As noted above we needed to book this particular run through a travel agent. Have you seen this thread: Wiki - Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

We actually managed to locate this run on the QF website with some creative use of the multi-city tool.

Apparently the Noumea run is no longer available at such cheap prices, at least it wasn't during the last DSC promo.
I did a lite version of this run a few weeks ago, and to be honest, I regretted not staying as the views in and out of Noumea were amazing, looks like a great place to get away and not too far from Oz.

Thank you @Jacques Vert and @Gem56 for being such fantastic travelling companions.
We had a ball on the Noumea DSC run and would holiday with you again in a heartbeat! So many laughs, good food, great wine and fun.

And a huge thank you for generously sharing your Marriott discount vouchers so we could all enjoy 50% off our meals at the Le Meridien hotels.

As an addition to this thread our final night at the Hilton Noumea saw me retain Diamond for another year. Also, after a ski trip to Japan early next year we will both maintain QF Platinum. We definitely ticked all the boxes!!! :):):)
