Tiger @ MEL-MCY $49.95 & MCY-MEL $49.95 = $99.90. Jetstar Price Beat less 10% = $89.91.

i booked this about an hour ago... sensational deal plus Jetstar gives 10kg carry on so no need to jerk about with checked baggage.

Yes its interesting isn't it?

One of two things may happens:

1. JQ will re-time their flights to escape the price-beat, in which case jump in if you need to go to those places.
2. TT will pull out or reschedule their flights

The TT vs JQ battle would be very interesting to see some of the stats, pax figures and OTP plus schedule changes data to see exactly who is reacting to who in situations like this.

At least if JQ cancel a flight ex MCY (like today) due to weather or if an FA goes sick, then pax will get bussed down to BNE & put on QF so they will more than likely still get to their destination the same day.

AFAIK TT never book pax on alternate airlines so pax may be offered a full refund for their TT flight but that would not even come close to what they would have to pay for a new ticket on VA/QF/JQ to get home. The alternate would be to wait for TT's next flight or when they fix the plane if it's gone u/s.
