On Friday 28 February, TT620, the 1700 hours SYD - OOL took off at 1750 with the 'limited lifespan left' A320 VH-XUG, so arrival should be at approximately 1758 hours, 38 minutes behind schedule.

Southbound B738 VH-VUX with TT582 (1355 hours OOL down to MEL airborne at 1510) is arriving at 1807 hours, 52 minutes late.

TT218 (Saturday 29 February, A320 VH-VND, 0930 hours MEL up to SYD in the sky at 1032) should arrive 48 late at 1143 hours.

On the first day of March 2020, a Sunday, TT279 (B738 VH-YVA) is the 2040 hours evening SYD - MEL in the sky at 2136, so arrival should be at 2254 hours, 39 late.

On Thursday 5 March 2020, as at 0825 hours MEL appeared to be on single runway (east-west) operations, which is starting to mean departure delays. TT451 (B738 VH-VUD, the 0730 hours MEL - ADL) did not take off until 0830 hours so will be at least 40 minutes late arriving.

MEL has an 'award' it may not desire with late at night on Thursday 5 March it topping the FR24 worldwide delay rankings by minutes as TT667, the 1955 short flight from CBR down to MEL airborne at 2111 mid evening undergoes at least three racecourse circuits for its holding above Mt Buller. B738 VH-YVA is suggested as arriving at 2251, 106 minutes behind schedule.

Friday 6 March';s TT462 (scheduled 1455 hours ADL across to MEL in the sky at 1624 hours) has B738 VH-VUB and should arrive at 1758 hours, 73 late.

TT271 (Wednesday 11 March 2020, the scheduled 1840 hours SYD down to MEL, B738 VH-VUX) did not take off until 2011 hours so arrival will be at 2120 or beyond, so at least 65 minutes tardy.

TT has already had flight frequency cuts announced and is becoming a shell of its former self as VA struggles with finances.

However it is not immune from the coronavirus-related surge in cancellations, although unlike QFd and VAd, it doesn't have huge numbers of flights on routes like MEL - SYD so its cancellation raw numbers will be far lower.

On Monday 16 March, TT221, the 0845 hours SYD - MEL has been cancelled. Later today, TT243, the 1300 hours on the same route is also to be flicked.

Tigerair Australia will no longer fly again...

However AFF may retain this thread (as it does generally) as an historical record and a reminder how much of the time TT's punctuality was appalling.

My trips on it were relatively uneventful. The worst delay was about 50 minutes.

However, it's easy to understand why many AFF members avoid it (and JQ) like the plague.
