I have had an unsuccessful ask to VFF re taking into account the fact I am mid itinerary come my review date and the return leg would net me more than enough points to retain WP. I have already requalified for Gold.

But I don't want to waste the 280 SC earned on the outbound so wondering how retro claims are applied timing wise.

My flights work as follows:
- First leg departs on say 27 Nov
- Second leg departs on 28 Nov (and lands same day)

My review date is 29 Nov

Am flying on a partner airline so will be delay in flights crediting.

If I remove my FF number from the booking, wait for my review to be completed and then put a retro claim in - will the points be credited to the new year or applied to the year now closed?

Thanks!

Experience is that SC's, even retrospective, are credited based on the scheduled departure time of the flight. I suspect you'll be fine.

The T&C's are not conclusive: https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/ProgramBenefits/TermsConditions/#statuscredits

There is only this relevant to dates:
21.1.11 Status Credits are valid for 365 days from

(a) the travel date of the eligible flight, or

(b) the date that the Status Credits earned from a Status Credits Partner Transaction are credited to the Velocity Membership Account.
I suspect 'eligible flight' includes those of partner airlines while 'partner Transaction' is for earning from sources such as FlyBuys,

It should be noted that with VFF, as long as you earn 1000SC in ANY twelve month period you can earn WP. The twelve month period does not need to be your current membership year (unlike other programs).

So all may not be lost depending on when your first earn was in your current year and when you have future flights coming up...
