I am currently a QF SG, still have 8 months before the reset but am almost qualified for another year of SG. At the current rate, platinum may be possible. however, QF and oneworld have poor coverage in Asia. for many of my short trips there, I had have to go with China Southern, Vietnam airline, Air Korea, etc.

I am considering diverting to get gold from *A or Skyteam. Your advice and suggestions how to quickly get Gold from *A or Skyteam would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Platinum or 2 Golds

Food for thought, may be okay now to get the second airline qualification, but also factor in year 2,3,4,5 etc ..can you re-qualifying on both .... or aim for lifetime on one?

Re: Platinum or 2 Golds

It is an important question. I think I can requalify for both over the next few years. QF will still be the first priority. I am hoping for lifetime SG with QF but still have many more working years, thus it is not a priority for now.

Re: Platinum or 2 Golds

Asiana has easy *G. As does Aegean.

Asiana has the added benefit of only needing 500k BIS miles for lifetime *G.

Re: Platinum or 2 Golds

Why not try to do a status match when you get to platinum or even gold??

Re: Platinum or 2 Golds

It is certainly an option. I will have an upcoming trip to the US in July and could use the current status challenge program from either Delta or United, although I would much prefer Air NZ or Singapore since they offer a better chance for me to requalify.

If you go for ST then DL or AZ, *A NZ or SQ so you have domestic partner status with VA

You could always go for QF WP then just do a status much to the equivalent *A or Skyteam although they would still probably match you as a QF SG also.
